The Qur’an strongly implies a man’s right to discipline or chastise his family. But because of the strong Sharia bias:

  • In many conservative Muslim countries, domestic violence laws are limited or even non-existent.
  • In Pakistan, 5,000 women are killed by domestic violence each year, a rate 6.5 times greater than U.S. and 12 times greater than Canada.
  • There are an additional 1,000 – 2,000 “honour killings” of Pakistani females each year.
  • Only 5% of these deaths are prosecuted as murders.

in this video, presenter Frederick Tamagi explores the laws that govern many Muslim countries.
